MRS. E. G. REDLINGSHAFER

Fannie Augusta Arnold, daughter of Edward and Sophia Arnold, was born May 25, 1872, in Marion county, Iowa, and passed away Oct. 24, 1955, at the age of 83 years, five months, following an extended illness at the Yocom hospital.

She was united in marriage Jan. 14, 1891, to Ernest Greer Redlingshafer. Following their marriage they established their home on a farm in Lucas county where they resided for 53 years. To this union three daughters were born, Carrie, Fannie and Twila. In January, 1941, they observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary at the farm home.

As an early date she joined the United Brethren church where she was always a faithful member. Her life, with her family, friends and community truly illustrated the meaning of the word Christian.

For the past several years she made her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Olen Havner, of Chariton.

She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Olen Havner and Mrs. Amos Kinkead of Chariton and Mrs. Claude Burley of Corydon. Seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Della Anderson of Chariton and one brother, Jim Arnold of Long Valley, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away Aug. 2, 1946, two grandchildren, Doris Lucille Burley and Verda Kinkead Meyer, four sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Redlingshafer always had time to leave her warm home to help her neighbors and friends, to ease and comfort in sickness or distress. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Beardsley funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, the Rev. A. E. Beals and the Rev. H. P. Blunt officiated. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
