"Theodore 'Ted' Moyer 1915-2007

Theodore 'Ted' Moyer of Chino Hills, Calif. died Oct. 14, 2007 at the age of 91. Ted was born on Nov. 29, 1915 in Willcox, Ariz., he graduated from Willcox Union High School in 1936.

In 1940 he was the first volunteer from Willcox and the 91st to volunteer from the State of Arizona to enlist in the U.S. Army in WW II. He was discharged in 1945 as First Sergeant with the 570th Signal Company. Ted was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his children Debra Gulickson of Chino, Calif., Lawrence Read of Northridge, Calif., James Read of Chino Valley, Ariz. and Sue Read of Bullhead City, Ariz. along with seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Ruby Warner of Fresno, Calif. and Ruth Herring of Willcox and a brother Kline Moyer of Calif. Preceding him in death was his parents Albert and Pearl (Craig) Moyer and his wife Ruby Moyer.

Graveside services with military honors were held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Sunset Cemetery in Willcox.

Services under the direction of Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematorium of Willcox, Ariz."
