Open for discussion re: transfer guidelines, i.e., is it better for a known family member to care for the memorial and receive contacts and answer questions about that family or for a person totally unrelated and, perhaps, inactive to receive such queries. I wonder about those guidelines as they now stand. If you are remotely related to a person whose memorial I created or were personally acuainted with the family I shall be more than happy to transfer said memorial. I don't feel qualified to answer questions about that person or their family nor do I have the time to field all of those questions. I have made those memorials to honor the deceased, not to honor me! It is sufficient to the cause that the memorial exists at all, no?

Candy - thanks so very much for the kind transfer. I'm doing this for Sam and he wanted you to know he's grateful for the work you did by adding his dad. We both say thanks,

Thanks, I try to send out obits for the memorials when I find them, I seldom know if they are used or not, It is good to know that they helped. Marsha

I'll keep an eye out for Edward Roethle - he isn't anywhere yet; neither is his wife, who died 11 years ago.
I agree with you that the obit implies he'll go to the post cemetery.
All the best, Bill

Trying to find this cemetery, do you have any directions or GPS coordinates as there is no listing for this cemetery in any of the cemetery books for Johnston Co., NC.
Thanks for your time,
Thank you, Candy, for transferring my uncle's memorial to me!

People can say anything in an obituary. . . .
Cremains are brought to SAVMC 1, 5, 10 years after death maybe once a month or two; it's pretty common. There's no time limit.
In this case, maybe the 2 spouses will be interred together when the second spouse dies. Or maybe the family just changed its mind about interment and scattered the ashes or decided to keep them on the mantle forever. I don't know what happened in this case.
All the best, Bill
