Joan was my dad's older sister. She was very proper and liked the finer things in life. I didn't get to know her very well since she wasn't around much, and died when I was younger, but she holds a special place in my heart. I remember visiting her in Chicago and in Florida. She had 2 Siamese cats in Florida and those things were EVIL! I remember being so frightened by them and they would run around hissing at everyone. The things we remember huh? :)
Joan graduated as a nurse from Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, IL in 1957 and then continued to work there. She married Farees Khaja in India in 1961. They lived in various places; including Chicago, Hong Kong, and Florida. Together they had 1 daughter.
