DAUCHY GROUP (click on picture to get largest view): This picture looks north, northeasterly, and shows much of the central part of the north end of the old burial ground at Titicus Cemetery. Note that some members of this family are spelled Dauchy and some Dauchey; the following listings reflect what is on the stone. Also note that more Dauchys are buried in the distance of this photo — see under Charles Dauchy (d.1833) or Phillip Dauchy (d. 1839), for other names. 1. Mary Dauchy, wife of Capt. Vivus Dauchey. 2. Capt. Vivus Dauchey. 3. Infant of Isaac and Eunice (Dauchy) Olmsted. 4. Rachel, wife of Ensign Vivus Dauchy (perhaps the most perfectly preserved pre-1800 stone in a Ridgefield cemetery). 5. James Wallace. 6. Mary Wallace, widow of James Wallace. 7. Hannah (Dauchy) Jenks, daughter of Philip and Mary Dauchy and wife of Stephen Jenks (spelled Jencks in Ridgefield vital records). 8. Anna, wife of John Dauchey. 9. John Dauchey (stone considerably smaller than that of his wife). 10. Molly Dauchy, wife of Samuel Dauchy Esq. 11. Samuel Dauchy. 12. Daniel Dauchey. 13. Lois Dauchy, wife of Daniel Dauchy. 14. Adah Nickerson. (Ridgefield vital records say Adah Dauchy was born in 1769, daughter of John and Anna Dauchey [above]. Age of 49 (50th year) does not work with that birth date though; something is probably incorrectly transcribed, but she is likely a Dauchy). 15. Roxanna Nash, wife of Charles Nash (possibly Roxanna Dauchy Nash?). 16. Philip Dauchy (d. 1822). His wife, Mary Dauchy, is to the right of this stone, unfortunately not in this picture.
