He was retired from U.S. Steel Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman "Red" and Roseann Parkhurst.
He is survived by two sisters: Denise Thorpe of FL and Deborah Parkhurst of Valparaiso; nieces: Lindsay Barnett and Melissa Bujna Brandenburg; nephew, Tom Barnett Jr.; great niece and nephew: Alexis Ragsdale and Blake Barnett and his best friend, Doug.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St. Merrillville.
Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery.
