Auto Wreck Near Tatums
Leroy Jacks and Glenn Bumgarner Succumb;
Willard Kuykendall Critically Injured
Two young men were fatally injured, another is in a hospital in a critical condition, and others sustained severe injuries in a collision between a pickup truck and Chevrolet sedan near Tatums about 5 p.m. Sunday.
Leroy Jacks of near Sulphur, Glenn Bumgarner and Willard Kuykendall of Hennepin, who were riding in the pickup, were rushed to Sulphur clinic where their condition was found to be critical. Jacks died about midnight and Bumgarner lingered until yesterday afternoon. Kuykendall's condition is still reported serious…
Funeral services for Glenn S. Bumgarner, who passed away at 6:15 p.m. yesterday in a Sulphur hospital, were held at the Christian church in Davis this afternoon at 2:30. W. F. McNeill, Davis grocer, long time friend of the family, made the address. The pastor, Rev. E. E. Watson assisted in the service. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery.
Deceased was 20 years and eight months old and was born at Hennepin. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Bumgarner and one sister, Miss Evelyn Bumgarner of near Tatums; and five brothers, Hermut, Ralph, Otha Dale and Bobby Jack of the home address and Thomas Bumgarner of Davis.
