Jehu Kimsy "JK" Whitaker was the son of James & Nancy Kyle-Whitaker. He fought during the Civil War with the 39th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry, Company C.

Jehu died Jan 12, 1863 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Wounded, captured, taken prisoner, died of wounds at Stones River.
