Julian E. Whiting, 92, of Independence, MO passed away on October 3, 2004. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Funeral Home. The service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Julian was born on September 7, 1912 in Helena, Montana. At the age of two, the family moved to Clitherall, MN, where he lived until moving to Independence, MO in 1933. He was a member and past President of the Restoration Church, The Church of Jesus Christ (Cutlerite), Independence, MO. Julian was an Electrical Contractor for many years and Co-owned Galaxie Electric Co., Independence, MO. His favorite hobby was flying which he enjoyed doing for many years. Julian is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Violet M. (Ilo) Whiting of the home; two sons, Stanley E. and wife Shirley Whiting, Independence, MO, Daryl J. and wife Elaine Whiting, Blue Springs, MO; one daughter, Mary E. and husband Wray Worden, Blue Springs, MO; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Julian was loved by all that knew him and will be missed dearly.
