Former Auditor's Clerk Here Had Been Living In Branson

Served Webster County as Collector and Recorder Two Terms
John (Pop) Owen, for several years clerk in the bonus division of the state auditor's office here, died at his home in Branson early today after a several days illness of uremia. He was 62 years old.
Mr. Owen, who was the father of Jim Owen, formerly connected with the News and Tribune advertising staff, was widely known throughout the state.
He was elected county recorder of Webster county for two years and then became collector of that county. He was appointed to a position in the auditor's office here and continued in that place until about six years ago when he moved to Branson. He was druggist by profession.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, James, and a daughter Miss Wilma all of Branson.
