Sabine Index, Many, La., Nov 9, 1967

Mr. William R. Robinson, lifelong resident and member of a
pioneer Louisiana family, passed away after an illness of several
months, at Heritage Manor Convalescent Home, Oct. 30, 1967.

Born in Kisatchie, La., Oct. 20, 1888, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan A. Robinson. He attended school at Kisatchie, and Cloutierville, La., and later moved to Many, La., where he attended St. John's School. Upon leaving school, he served as Deputy Clerk of Court for Sabine Parish, for approximately ten years. He was married to Daisy E. Hatcher, April 23, 1912, in Many, La., at St. John's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. For many years, he was active in civic affairs, including charter membership of the Lions Club, past member of the Many City Council, and also a member of the Woodmen of the World.

He entered a local hospital June 18, 1967, where he remained until September 1967. He was then transferred to the convalescent home, and was a patient there until his death.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Nov. 1, 1967, at St. John's Church of Many, with the Rev. Father William Kwaaitaal officiating. The Rev. Father Pat Cahill assisted.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Daisy; and seven children, Mrs. E. J. Giering Jr. of Natchitoches, La., William R. Robinson Jr. of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Clark Mathis of Mansfield, La., Mrs. Donald Cavell of Franklin, Pa., Mrs. Francis J. Boargeois of Poway, Calif., Mrs. Jimmie Zosiak of Bellaire, Tex., and Mrs. Albert E. Hill of Redlands, Calif.; also 23 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Bill Ashley, Mrs. Agnes Schroeder, and Mrs. Leattie Davis, all of Many, and Mrs. Gene Winberry of Houston, Tex.; and five brothers, Coda, Simon, Rolla, Roy, and Paul, all of Many.
