Leah O. Carpenter, 90, a longtime resident of Brewster, died Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, in Okanogan-Douglas District Hospital in Brewster.
She was born June 14, 1903, to a pioneer family in Chelan.
She married Harvey Carpenter on Dec. 10, 1919 at Wenatchee. They moved to Brewster in 1945, where they owned and operated orchards.
She was an active member of the Community Log Church and the Ladies' Aid Society of Brewster. She had been a resident of Harmony House since 1989.
She is survived by two daughters, Lenore Evans of Arizona and Marian Meader of California; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981.
Services were conducted Wednesday, January 12 at 1 pm from the Barnes Chapel, Brewster. Interment to follow at Brewster Cemetery. Arrangements by Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
