Lee Wilson Abbott. age 92, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at his home, after a short illness.

He was born in Columbus, Arkansas on October 6, 1913. He was the youngest of five children to Ephriam and Sarah Abbott.

Lee is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carrie Lou Abbott. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law.

Lee served in the Air Force from 1941 to 1944. Upon retiring to Austin after the war, he worked for Calcasieu Lumber Company for 15 years. In 1953 Lee started Abbott Appliance Company until his retirement in 1976.

Lee was a member of Congress Avenue Baptist Church and was a lifetime Deacon. He served as Superintendent of the Deaf Department for several years and was recognized with many awards and loved and respected by all that knew him.

After retirement Lee and Carrie spent their summers in Colorado in the home that he designed and built.

Lee was a man of many talents and was affectionately known as “Leebo�.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m at Harrell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Congress Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery Annex.
