Mr. Gann was a son of Samuel Barton Gann and Mary Rhoda Gann and was born in Mercer county Missouri, June 2, 1858. He helped build the first business house in the town of Mercer, for A. A. Alley and also helped build the Christian church of that place. After leaving Mercer county, he lived in Oklahoma for some time. Then he and his family moved to Noel, Missouri, where he lived the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Maude D. Gann, one son Caddo C. Gann of the home, seven daughters; Mrs. S. Blake Forsha, Kansas City; Mrs. Ada E. Smith and Mrs. Lola G. Tabor, Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Mae Ticer of Paulden, Arizon; Mrs. Anna G. Clark, Mercer; Mrs. Blanche Brogden, Hinton, Oklahoma; Mrs. Jessie W. Phillips, Galena, Kansas; seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary G. Alley, Mercer; two brothers S. P. Gann, Springfield, Missouri; and J. F. Gann, Shawnee, Oklahoma. One son died in infancy.
He had many friends and relatives in Mercer who were made sad by his passing and who showed their respect for him and their sympathy for the bereaved family at the funeral services held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. Reverend F. L. Waid of Princeton conducted the services at the Christian Church. Interment was in the Girdner Cemetery
