Susanna Hollingsworth Jones was the daughter of Isaac Hollingsworth and Susanna Wright and the first wife of Elisha Jones.
An excerpt from 'A Walk In a Country Churchyard,' by Luke Smith Mote, Autumn, 1880:
"A few steps further on in the same direction we come to a group of headstones of similar fashion and read on one Susanna Jones, died twenty-second of fifth month 1817, aged twenty-eight years, eight months, nine days, killed by a stroke of lightning on the forenoon of that day. This was a sad affair to that family-a nice, kind, affectionate Christian mother snatched away in a moment from a family of little dependent children, four girls and a son, the eldest ten years and the youngest not two (the youngest daughter being now the wife of one who pens these notes). Why this dispensation was ordered or permitted is beyond the reach of our finite vision, seeing what followed its wake in after years."
