Billy Don Shipp of DeSoto, TX ended his "Long Good-bye" on Sept. 8, 2009; He fought long and hard against overwhelming odds, but grew weary. Bill was born in Farmersville, TX on October 19, 1938 to William K. and Opal L. (Becknell) Shipp. They preceded him in death as did his beloved grandmother, "Mama" Edna J. Shipp. Bill attended school in Nevada, TX and had many friends. His military service was with the U.S. Army. Bill's primary career was a business agent for U.F.C.W. Local 1000. He leaves behind his adored wife, Nancy; 2 daughters, Lisa Higgins and Julie
Green-Simpson; 4 sons, Kevin Hogue and James, Stephen, and Randall Headrick; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judy Shaw. Services are 12:00 Noon Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Interment will follow at the Dallas–Ft. Worth National Veterans Cemetery. Pall Bearers are Bryan Green, Allen ____, and others. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Sunday, Sept. 13 at the funeral home. We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile!
