He is the son of Eld. Abrabam Naff & Hannah (Peters) Naff. He operated the Naff farm which was part of the original tract settled by his great-grandfather Jacob Naff Sr. in 1782. He was a minister and elder in the Church of the Brethren, and was active and influential in his district, traveling on horseback with his contemporary elders to the adjoining counties. The gravesite can be located using GPS at N 37/08.730' , W 80/00.906'.
