LUFKIN YOUNG LADY DIES AS BIRTHDAY IS BARELY PASSED

Miss Alice Carlin died early Tuesday at her home at 706 Ward Ave., just as her 23rd birthday was drawing to a close.

Miss Carlin had been employed at the Busy Bee Cafe. She had been ill but a few days.

She was the daughter of Mrs. J. V. Carlin. Her father died some months ago.

In addition to her mother she is survived by two brothers, J. M. Carlin of Baton Rouge, La., and P. C. Carlin of Goose Creek. The following sisters also survive: Mrs. W. C. Summerlin and Mrs. S. M. Holt of Lufkin, and Misses, Edith, Lenno, Vella and Bernice Carlin, who live with their mother.

Funeral services were held from the Second Baptist Church at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. M. Schwitter officiating. Miss Carlin had been a lifelong member of and an active worker in the Baptist Church.

Burial was in Knight Cemetery. (remainder of obit too dim to read)
