Ida was the daughter of Pryor H. and Amanda (Bulloch) Choate. Her father died a few weeks after her birth. Her mother Amanda, a widow, struggled to provide for her five young children and Ida was the babe of them all. At the age of 14, Ida married Lewis G. Watson on May 14, 1892, at Milam Co., Tx. They had a daughter, Wilma. This marriage failed and Ida (who sometimes went by the name Daisy) next married Frank Hastings, a railroad conductor, and in 1910 Ida and her daughter, Wilma Watson, and Frank were living in San Antonio. Ida's third husband was Flavius Cocke, a dealer in horses, mules and a stable owner. In 1920 he and Ida lived in Texas and in Natchez, Ms. When this marriage ended, Ida returned to Texas and later (sometime after 1926) married John W. Sedwick and they made their home in Houston where Ida resided at the time of her death (Ida's grandaughter was Louise Davion).
