In 1843 Mr. and Mrs. Colson moved to the Brook Farm Association, near Boston, Mass., where Elmer and Angelo were born. This association had for its members some of the rarest spirits of American life and thought. Horace Greely and Chas, A. Dana, two of America’s greatest editors were members; Nathaniel Hawthorne and Margaret Fuller were also members.
In 1847 they moved to Abington, Mass., where Herman was born. In 1852 they moved to the North American Phalanx Association in Monmouth county, New Jersey where Wenona was born. Three years later they moved to Valley Mills, West Virginia, where Medora and Victor were born. Not until 1885 did they move to Ionia where, on June 6, 1896 her husband passed to the higher life. Since that time Mrs. Colson has made her home with Angelo, until November 10, 1907, when this faithful and loving wife and devoted mother joined her husband in their beautiful spirit home in the summer land. Both were life long Spiritualists and both passed to the Great Beyond firm in their belief and placing implicit trust in the philosophy of Spiritualism.
