Eugene J. "Ike" Bowsman passed away January 29, 2009 at age 79. He was born May 13, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of Earl R. and Amelia Lamle Bowsman. He had lived in the Richmond and Centerville area graduating from Richmond High School in 1947. He retired from Penn Central Railroad in 1991 with 41 years of service. He also served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Amvets Post #99. His parents, one brother and a sister preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Barbara (Schlosser) Bowsman, sons; Michael Bowsman and wife Kris and Steve Bowsman and companion Susan Holdren, grandchildren Julie and Jodi Bowsman, a great grandson Ethan Bowsman, and his brother in law David Schlosser and wife Bernice. Private family services are being conducted. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis at indyhumane.org. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home, Indianapolis, Indiana.
