Mrs. Rose A. Endicott, 76, of Springfield, died Saturday at St. John's Hospital after a short illness. Born in Menard County, Mrs. Endicott had been a resident of Springfield for 50 years. Her husband, Luther, died Nov. 13, 1960.
Mrs. Endicott was a graduate of the Springfield School of Nursing in 1919 and was formerly employed at St. John's Hospital. She was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, Golden Age Club and was a Salvation Army Volunteer.Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George Maier Sr. of Springfield; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Edith Eades of Tallula; three brothers, John W. Derry of Petersburg, Oliver Derry of Decatur and Earle Derry of Peoria.Services at Staab Funeral Home. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, Sunday, 4-30-1967, p9.
