James E Shrout, 79, of 13830 State Highway 8, Titusville, died at 1:43 am, Friday, Nov 16, 2007, at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mr Shrout was born on Nov 9, 1928, in Titusville, a son of the late Oliver W "Bill" and Lillie McLucas Shrout. He was married to Carol Sloan on June 23, 1947, in Titusville. He was a graduate of the Titusville High School, class of 1947. He had been employed for 37 years at the former Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp in the rolling department, from which he retired. Mr Shrout was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of Titusville; a brother, Harold L "Rip" Shrout and his wife, Jeanne, of Port Charlotte, Fla; a sister-in-law, Barbara Shrout of Hydetown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James E Shrout Jr; three brothers, Paul Shrout, Donald "Bud" Shrout and Oliver Shrout; and two sisters, Mrs Mae Sutley and Mrs Mary Hover. Friends may call at the Gordon B Garrett Funeral Home...and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 11 am with Rev Bill Blair, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
