MARY ASHTON JONES
Cherry Creek, Idaho - Mrs. Mary Emma Ashton Jones, 79, of Cherry Creek, died Thursday of natural causes at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 30, 1890, in Portage, Utah, a daughter of Hyrum and Emma Ella John Ashton.
On March 25, 1914, she was married to Brigham W. Jones in Woodruff, Idaho.
She was educated in Woodruff Schools.
She was a member of the LDS Church and Relief Society visiting teacher.
Surviving are her husband, three sons and five daughters, Leland A. Jones, Malad; M. Sgt. Cleland A. Jones, U.S. Air Force (ret.), Sunset; Avon L. Jones, Mrs. Kenneth (Sylvia Marie) Hefflefinger, Mrs. Glen (LaWana Lou) Spiers, all of Ogden; Mrs. Dale (Alta Mae) Moon, Cherry Creek; Mrs. Ronald (Faye Louise) Jones, Clearfield; Mrs. John (Norma Rae) Everett, Pineville, La.
Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, Joseph Elias Ashton, Pocatello; Warren V. Ashton, Cherry Creek; Harvey Willis Ashton, Mrs. Hugh (Merle) McLane, both of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Cherry Creek Ward Chapel with Bishop Cordell Williams officiating.
Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home in Malad Sunday evening and at the Cherry Creek Ward Relief Society room Monday after 10 a.m. Burial in the Malad Cemetery.
