DEATH OF MRS. CARTER
___________
WIFE OF EARL CARTER DIES AT HER HOME IN THIS CITY SUNDAY MORNING
___________
Remains Taken to Cheyenne for Interment in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery There - Born in Cheyenne and Been Resident of Laramie for the Past Four Years - Lovely Woman.
___________

Mrs. Julia Joanne Wilseck Carter, wife of E. A. H. Carter of this city and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilseck of Cheyenne, died at her home on Thornburgh street, between Eighth and Ninth, Sunday morning, at 5 o'clock, and the remains were taken to Cheyenne today, to be laid to rest tomorrow afternoon, in the Odd Fellows' section of the city cemetery there. The funeral services will be held at the Cheyenne Presbyterian church, of which Mrs. Carter was a member, not having transferred her membership to this city. She leaves a husband and two small daughters, one about 3 years old and the other less than two weeks. Her mother and other relatives were with her at the time of her death, and Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Carter and Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Smith accompanied Mr. Carter and Mrs. Wilseck to Cheyenne today with the remains of their loved one.

The Sad Occurrence.

The death of this estimable young woman is among the saddest that have occurred in Laramie for a long time. Born in Cheyenne twenty-two years ago, she has grown to womanhood in our midst, almost. A little more than four years ago she became the wife of Mr. Carter and removed to this city, having since made her home here. She was a loving wife, a delightful social companion and a devoted mother. When her second daughter was born there were many expressions of deep concern and wishes for her speedy recovery, so that she might continue to shine in the social circle of which she had ever been an ornament here. From day to day friends sent to enquire as to her condition, and not until the latter part of the week were there alarming reports from her bedside. On Saturday her mother arrived, and was with her until the end.

Mrs. Carter was a most lovable lady. She was looked upon as worthy helpmate for her energetic and enterprising husband, and seemed quite devoted to her family. Mr. Carter is prominent as a Knight of Pythias and as an Elk. In Damon lodge he is the keeper of records and seal and is a member of the grand lodge, having represented the local lodge at the meeting last year. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to him and those who mourn with him.

Sister in Missouri.

Mrs. Carter's sister, Mrs. John Jamison of Sedalia, Mo., was notified and is expected to reach Cheyenne tonight to be present at the funeral tomorrow afternoon. Other relatives and friends from a distance will be present.
