William Hershel Pickett, 83, of North Vernon, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at West Lake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Ky.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Scipio Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include a son, Roger Pickett of Edmonton, Ky.; brothers, Lawrence Pickett and T.J. Pickett of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Elsie Stone and Wilma Williams of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Christine Acree Pickett; and a son, Michael Pickett.
