He was a retired grocery and tobacco wholesaler, and was an avid fisherman, enjoying bass fishing around his home near Kentucky and Barkley Lakes.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah Alexander and husband Brad of Glasgow, Kentucky, and Katie Pickett of Westminster, Maryland; one son, Terry Pickett and fiance�, Deanna Abbott, of Stockbridge, Georgia. In addition to his children he is survived by 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Alexander and wife Nikki of Glasgow, Kentucky, and Jessica Alexander of Georgetown, Kentucky. Mr. Pickett is also survived by 3 brothers, Hershel Pickett of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, L. C. Pickett of Edmonton, Kentucky, and T. J. Pickett of Louisville, Kentucky. Two sisters also survive, Wilma Williams and Elsie Stone of Louisville, Kentucky, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at the A. F. Crow and Son Funeral Home in Glasgow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, with visitation beginning Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. and continuing Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until time for services.
