Signe, age 104, of Viroqua passed away on Thursday morning at Bethel Home. She was born in Utica Township, the daughter of Johannes & Sigrid "Sella" (Iverson) Saegrove. She was baptized in Utica Lutheran Church and attended Girdler School and Gale College before marrying Idor T. Aspenson on July 29, 1933. They lived in Gays Mills until 1958, when they moved to Viroqua. She had resided at Maplewood Terrace the past three years. Signe was an avid quilter and had a sewing business in her home. She was a member of Eastern Star, Bethel Home Auxiliary, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and sang in the Good Shepherd Choir and was a member of Joanna Circle. She was also a charter member of Mount Sterling Lutheran Church as well as Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gays Mills. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Clara Saegrove and Harriet (Aspenson) DeLap; and many nieces and nephews. Signe was preceded in death by her husband, Idor Aspenson; and siblings, Lena (Hans) Sognesand, Martha (Howard) Holt, Stella (Clarence) Johnson, Mabel (Milner) Stove, Andrew, Julius, Johan, Arthur (Clara) and Oscar Saegrove.
Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan officiated with burial in Utica Church Cemetery, rural Ferryville.
