Maternal grandfather, John O. McGinnis was both a Revolutionary War Patriot and veteran of War of 1812.
John Bonnell moved north to Hoosier Valley, Grand Traverse Co., Michigan about 1880-81 with wife and children.
John died in 1917 and grave was unmarked for 21 years until his granddaughter, Lu Harkins arranged to have a VA stone placed in 1938.
