Nancy Ann Eckenrode
The subject of these lines, who died at the home of her daughter - Mrs. James Stevens - in Gallitzin on the 4th inst., was born in Westmoreland County almost eighty-six years ago. When a young woman she was united in marriage with George Eckenrode, who departed this life about fourteen years ago, and they came to Cambria County in 1861, settling near what is now known as Bradley Junction.

Mrs. Eckenrode is survived by the following-named children: George, of Cresson; Vincent, of Johnstown; Sylvester, of Gallitzin; Mrs. Sarah Bortman, of Portage; Mrs. Elizabeth Greenwood, of Johnstown; Mrs. Matilda Huffman, of St. Augustine; Mrs. Margaret Eckenrode and Miss Agnes, of Loretto, and Mrs. James Stevens, of Gallitzin.

After a mass of requiem Monday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Gallitzin, the remains were borne to their last resting place by three of the deceased's sons and three of her grandsons as pallbearers. “
