J.D. loved his puppies. This is him and Biddie when he was 6 and the puppy died on J.D.'s 8th birthday.

This hat was J.D.'s favorite style instead of the baseball cap or, because of living in Texas and very popular with everyone, the cowboy hat. He loved his Fedora.

J.D. had turned 14 the month before he was Baptized at the Friendship Church in Waller, Texas on July 30, 2006 by the Youth Minister, Brother Wayne Wilson.

J.D. had very thick and curly hair which he didn't like very much, he always wanted to straighten it. I let him a couple times, but it only stayed straight for a couple of days. I liked it when he got a military hair cut, shaved on the sides and short on top. He wore the military cut most of the time. Here, J.D. is with his beloved dog "Buddy". He saved him from being killed as a puppy when his owner was going to kill him with an electric cattle prod.

This is J.D. and me (Nana) when he was about 12. He had grown to 6' when he died, but we never saw him that tall. I was only 4'10" here and have since, because of age, shrunk to 4'8".

J.D. wanted this haircut, but he got nervous the closer it got to time for Paw Paw to come home. When Paw Paw got home, he saw the haircut and didn't say anything, he just went to his bath room, and the next thing you know, Paw Paw came in the room with, guess what, a mohawk too! J.D. was so happy that Paw Paw hadn't gotten mad but had actually shaved his own head. J.D. and his Paw Paw were very close.

J.D. in his Renaissance costume with his dog Purddy. J.D. loved that dog and was devastated when she got killed. J.D. loved the Renaissance time period along with the costumes they wore, the swords and shields.

J.D. and his Daddy, who lived in Georgia, came to Texas for a visit when J.D. was 13, however, he turned 14 two months later. David, his Daddy, came to Texas when J.D. died for the Celebration of his Life. David died the next year 10/18/2009 so they are together again.

J.D. started karate when he was 4. This is a picture of him during a tournament when he was 5 1/2. He must have just finished a sparring match. He has his green belt in the pic and by the time he was 8 he had his black belt.

This is the light pole that was knocked down at the time of the accident.(I should say, this is the light pole that replaced the one knocked down at the time of the accident) Three other young men died in this accident, a 21 year old, a 20 year and J.D.'s step brother, Clayton, who was 17.

This was one of his guitars that his friends signed after his death, and he loved wearing this hat, we put it on top of our Christmas tree this past year, and the box contains his ashes.
