Joseph J. Anderson was my 2X great-grandmother, Minerva Benjamin Ridgway Anderson's 2nd husband. J.J. was born in about 1847 in New York state, and died DEC 1904, Oakdale, Smith County, KS. J.J. wasin the Civil War - Company A, 11th NY Cavalry - From 21 MAR 1861 through 21 MAR 1865. He married Minerva 12 SEP 1875 in Camp Township, Polk County, IA, 4 years after my 2X great-grandfather died in 1871. J.J. died with a pension (for injuries in the Civil War) and Minerva received those benefits until she died in 1922 in Cope, Washington, CO.
