Mary Madeline Fleming

Funeral services for Mary Madeline Fleming, 75 of Salina will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Blair and Reverend Charles Levi officiating. Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Locust Grove.
Mary was born August 2, 1934 in Newby, Oklahoma to Floyd and Irene (Miller) Smith. She died September 2, 2009 in Salina, OK. Mary grew up and attended school near Parlier, California. She moved to Oklahoma in 1953 and married James Donald Fleming in 1951 in Parlier, CA. The couple lived in the Oklahoma City area before moving to Locust Grove in August of 1963. Mary worked at Park Hill Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for 23 years. She also worked at Willard's Convenient Store in Locust Grove. She moved to the Tiawana area in 1996 and lived with her daughter Jody for four years. Mary loved flowers and she enjoyed retirement.

She is survived by 2 sons, Don Fleming of Muskogee and Daniel Fleming of Locust Grove; 3 daughters, Kelly Brown of Salina, Becky Henderson and husband Leon of Locust Grove, and Jody Fleming of Langley; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; mother, Irene Goodwin of Oklahoma City; 4 brothers Bill Smith of Oklahoma City, Jerry Smith of Watson, OK, Donnie Goodwin of Hillsborough, OR and Larry Goodwin of Guthrie, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don in 1981; father; Floyd Smith; grandson, Curtis Don Fleming; brother, Clarence Smith; and sister-in-laws, Norma Smith and Kathy Goodwin.

Family will be greeting friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Key Funeral Home of Locust Grove.
