Nicholas was the son of George Davis (1764-1829) from Sandwich, Mass. and Nancy Mead (1775-1838) from Dutchess, NY, they married in Saratoga, NY. Their son Nicholas was born in Saratoga and married Almira Wilcox, daughter of William Wilcox and Elizabeth Wyatt also of Saratoga. Nicholas and Almira were long time Saratoga County residents. Nicholas left the Friends Congregation in 1820.
