Mrs. Andrus was born in Brookhaven, MS and has lived over 60 years in the Lake Charles and Moss Bluff area. She was and avid shopper and talented decorator. Mrs. Andrus was a loving wife and mother whom will be most remembered as a woman faithful and devoted to her church and her family. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles.
She leaves to honor her memory, her husband of 62 years, Anderson "Jake" Andrus of Moss Bluff; two sons, Jerry Dwayne Andrus and wife Deborah and Michael James Andrus and wife Amber, both of Moss Bluff; two grandchildren; Katelyn Andrus and Trent Andrus, both of Moss Bluff; one step- grandchild, Mark E. Kuhlthau, Jr. of Moss Bluff; one brother, David Varnado and wife Thyra of Moss Bluff; four sisters, Mary Britt of Brookhaven, MS, Bethel Andrus of Moss Bluff; Ruth Vanover of Kinder and Janet Trout and husband Wayne of Dover, DE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend A.D. and Bessie Varnado.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 21, 2008 in First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles. Reverend Jeffery Ralston and Reverend Jerad Grissom will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Thursday will be from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
