Ackerman Harold W, 63, of R. 2, Kendallville, died Thursday in Mackinac Straits Hospital, St. Ignace, Mich. He was born in Kendallville Aug. 2, 1924, the son of William and Della (Feller) Ackerman. On June 2, 1944 in Kendallville he married Donna Stout. A veteran of WW II, he was a farmer, school bus driver for East Noble School Corporation and DeKalb Central Schools, and recently caretaker of the Noble County Fairgrounds. He was past president of Civitan Club, DeKalb County. Surviving are his wife; his mother; four sons, Dennis of Concord, N.C., and Donald, Randy and Michael, all Kendallville; a brother, Dr. Lawrence Ackerman, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. One son, Rex, and a brother preceded him in death. Services Saturday in Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. + 8-13-1987
