Robert Louis "Bob" Hughes, 84, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at North Hardin Nursing and Rehab Center in Radcliff.

He was born Sept. 24, 1924, to the late Charles and Alda Hughes of Leitchfield. He was a member of Stephensburg Masonic Lodge No. 212 F&AM and was in management at E'town Sportswear for 29 years.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; and a grandchild, Brad Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Madge J. Richardson Hughes; two sons, Ed (Patricia) Hughes of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Dan (Laura) Hughes of Frankfort; two daughters, Donna (Larry) Mitchell of Elizabethtown and Deborah Vittitoe Boston of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Eric, Ronnie, Angela, Jeffrey, Tim, Christopher and Bradley; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Summit Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. today.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the Summit United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
