Roland Cross of Prineville died Tues., Aug. 21, 2001 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. He was 76 years old.
He was born Jan. 24, 1925 in Ingham, Nebraska, to Frederick and Pearl Cross. He married Bettye Kotschwar in 1945. They lived in Prineville from 1959 until 1976, returning to the area in September of last year.
Mr. Cross worked as a log scaler for the U.S. Forest Service for 17 years. He also worked as a farmer for several years.
His interests included fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Bettye Cross of Prineville; daughters, Sheileyn (and Ron) Pilant of Lebanon, Mo., Belinda Jo (and Ed) of Prospect; son Fred (and Brenda) of Salem; brother, Gordon Cross of Farnam, Neb.; sisters, Deloras Bunstock of Oberlin, Kan., and Audrey Kotschwar of Farnam, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one's choice.
Funeral services were held Aug. 24 with burial at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Prineville Funeral Home.
