Swisher, Nancy L., piano teacher, born Dec. 7,1923, Pittsburg, Kans. to Dr. and Mrs. F.L. Soper. She graduated from Pittsburg High School and Pitt State University. After marrying Dr. William C. Swisher June 24, 1945, she became a lifelong resident of Wichita. She taught piano for more than 40 years. She was a past president of the Sedgwick County Medical Auxiliary, member of Wichita Area Association Piano Teachers' League, Wichita Metropolitan Music Teacher Association, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Hillside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by husband William Swisher and grandson Chad E. McCune. She is survived by brother Robert R. (Juene) Soper, Tulsa, Okla; sons William Swisher, Jr., Bob (Karen) Swisher; Richard (Stacy) Swisher; Jim (Kim) Swisher; daughters Nancy Garvey, Barbara (Craig) Moehring, Mary (Mike) Vanausdall, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67206. Family visitation at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St., Wichita, KS 67206, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, August 28. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at Hillside Christian Church.
