A native of Ackerman, Mr. Coleman was a truck and fleet manager for Estabrook Motor Company until his retirement in 1977. He also served on the Mississippi Education Finance Commission from 1968 to 1988 and served as chairman in 1973-1974 and 1979-1980. Mr. Coleman was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi F & A.M. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Hamasa Shriners. Mr. Coleman died Tuesday, December 28, 2004.
Survivors include his daughter, Sue Leggett of Pascagoula; sister, Ruth Golden of Vaughn, MS; brother, W.D. Coleman of Jackson, MS; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
