REV. VIRGIL G. MEYER, 97, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Village Oaks at Fort Wayne.
He was born near Tefft, Indiana, February 6, 1909.
Virgil was a retired minister and evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Fort Wayne Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene. He pastored churches at Portland, North Manchester, Columbia City and Fort Wayne Elmhurst. He was in evangelistic work for about sixteen additional years.
Surviving are sons, Orlyn (Marilyn) Meyer and Dean (Susan) Meyer; grandchildren, Daniel (Mary Ann) Meyer, Anne (Douglas) Hawking and Laura Meyer; and great-granddaughter, Tabitha Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille; his second wife Dorothy; and his daughter, Marcia Meyer.
Service was Tuesday at Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene, 10621 Liberty Mills Road, Fort Wayne. Calling was Monday and one hour prior to service at the church. Graveside service was at San Pierre, Indiana.
Memorials are to the church Forward in Faith Building Fund.
