JohnE Roberts, 74, of Abilene, died Tuesday at a local nursing center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the University Church of Christ with Dr. Eddie Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Belton, Texas to Willie H.and Exie Lee Stokes Garner. She attended Abilene Christian University and Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton. She was the widow of R.L. Roberts Jr., whom she married on May 30, 1946 in Belton. She had worked as a clerk at Abilene Christian University for 19 years and was recognized as the Outstanding Staff Member for school year 1991-92. She was a member of the University Church of Christ and Women of ACU. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Garner Roberts of Abilene, Dwight Alan Roberts of Austin, and Dr. John Paul Roberts of San Antonio; one daughter, Carol Anne Campbell of Flower Mound; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
