Funeral services fr Mrs. Lillie Acors Medlin were held last Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville, Mo., with Rev. Harold Wilder officiating. H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of service, with interment in Little Prairie Cemetery.
She was born n Paris, Tenn. on Aug. 10, 1891, and died at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, on Sept. 28, 1971, age 80 yrs., 1 mo. and 18 days.
She was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Mary F. Carson, and moved with her parents as a small child from Paris, Tenn. to Caruthersville. She attended the Caruthersville schools and on Dec 26, 1909 she was united in marriage to Walter F. Acors, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1965.
On Sept. 30, 1970 in Caruthersville, Mo. she was united in marriage to Lee Roy Medlin, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1971.
She was employed as a saleslady before retiring. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Millsap of Hayti, one brother, Albert Carson, Sr., of Ola, Arkansas, one grandson, Herbert Millsap, Jr., of Hayti; one nephew Albert Carson, Jr., of Caruthersville; one niece Mrs. Perry Merrick, Monroe, Ill.; 4 step-sons, Carl Medlin of Colorado; Floyd, Roger and Don Medlin, all of Caruthersville, 5 step-daughters, Mrs. Helen Hensley of Caruthersville, Mo.; Mrs. Florence Hensley of Floydada, Texas, Miss Jane Medlin of Cleveland, Tenn., Mrs. Betty Johnson, Palmer, Alaska, & Mrs. Mary Ann Spell, Hazelhurst, Georgia.
Pallbearers were James Taylor, Roger Medlin, Billy Jean, Julian Boyd, Terry Rollins, Floyd Medlin.
