Lala Moores Hitch, Guymon, OK, died August 25, 2009 in Dallas, TX. She was born in Vian, OK, Feb. 17, 1916, the only child of Sarah and Paul Moores. She graduated from Vian High School and Oklahoma A&M University. ty Theater. Mrs. Hitch was honored at PSU as a Hall of Fame inductee in 1983, Beta Sigma Phi Woman of the Year in 1969 and the F. Hiner Dale Citizenship Foundation Award and was very active as a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ladd Hitch, her sons, Paul Henry Hitch and James Charles Hitch. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Hitch Willingham and husband Clark of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Lynda Hitch of Guymon; four grandchildren, Jason Hitch and wife Sara, Chris Hitch and wife Brooke, Meredith Mabus and husband Rick, and Barrett Willingham and wife Elizabeth. She has seven great grandchildren, Tyler Hitch, Will and Whit Mabus, James, Sarah, Anna and John Willingham. Memorial services will be held at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, 523 N Roosevelt, Guymon, Saturday, August 29, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Michael Burkett, Pastor, and Rev. Barry Bennett, Associate Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jim Hitch Memorial Scholarship Fund or the charity of choice c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
