Jimmie D. Stephens, 94, of Fountain Run, Ky died at 1:05 P.M. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Barren County, Ky native was a farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and member of Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Willie Thompson Stephens and Lura Kelsey Stephens and husband of the late Clara Velma Russell Stephens.
He is survived by 3 Sons: Russell Stephens and Rex Stephens and wife, Vanessa, all of Scottsville, Ky; J.D. Stephens and wife, Judy, Mt. Washington, Ky;
3 Daughters: Virginia Crowe and husband, Norman, Fern Creek, Ky; Juanita Shipley, Scottsville, Ky and Linda Gass and husband, Lanas, Fountain Run, Ky;
23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 son: Bobby Stephens; 1 granddaughter: Jennifer Crowe; 1 Brother: Henry Stephens and 1 Sister: Clorene Martin.
Funeral services for Jimmie D. Stephens will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Shockley officiating and burial in Fountain Run Cemetery.
