Mrs. Hazel Ruth Thomas, age 65 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Born Tuesday, May 9, 1944 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Henry Washington Franks and the late Mary M. Varnell Franks.
She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
Surviving are sister, Mary Roberts of Winnfield, LA and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews as well as several great-great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2009 at Lakeside Baptist Church located on U.S. Highway 84 West near Winnfield, Louisiana with the Rev. Pete Anderson and Rev. Kenny Dyess officiating. Interment will be in Couley Double Church Cemetery, near Winnfield, LA.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana, and from noon to service time on Friday, August 28, 2009, at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Lee Ray Rhodes, Ricky Creason, Louis Smith, Ray Gorham, Bobby Barnes, and Glen Jones will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Harrison, Ben Speake, and Michael Rhodes.
