Dana Burroughs was a Supervisor for the Boston & Maine Railroad. He died from injuries after being pinned in the rail inspecting truck that was hit by a train. He was unable to jump out in time. He was the oldest son of Howard Willey Burroughs and Mercy Mae Kimball.

He never married.
