Hilda Wahl, 85, Bismarck, died Aug. 22, 2009. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Hilda Alvina Diede was born Sept. 24, 1923, on the family farm near Baldwin, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Miller) Diede. She grew up and attended school near Baldwin. On Jan. 26, 1942, she married Albert Wahl in Baldwin. In 1951, the couple moved to Bismarck. Albert passed away in 1987. Hilda retired from Medcenter One after working for 23 years as a nurses aide.
She enjoyed gardening and sewing, playing cards with her many friends, and loved her cat, George, who was a special friend.
Hilda is survived by her daughter, Janice Palmer, St. Francis, Minn.; her daughter-in-law, Alice Wahl, Bismarck; her sisters, Esther Zeiszler and Ann (Ray) Herman; her brothers, Alfred Diede, Gustas (Eleanor) Diede and Hank (Ann) Diede; and her grandchildren, Adam Wahl, Bismarck, Victoria Wahl, Bismarck, and Tracy Palmer, Coon Rapids, Minn.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and James; her husband; her sisters, Clara Fursenberg and Emelia Fischer; and her brother, Leonard Diede.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given the Anne Carlsen Center for Children, 701 NW 3rd St. Jamestown, ND, 58401.
