SCHIPPER, IDA MAE—
Aged 89, of Blackman Township, formerly of Michigan Center, passed away September 5, 2006 at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital. Seventy years ago she married Thomas L. Schipper on April 29, 1936 who survives along with two sons, Arnold L. Schipper of Leslie and Gerald H. (Mary Jane) Schipper of Jackson; two granddaughters, Terri (Jim) Chorba and Toni Nadell; five great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren; stepgranddaughter, Sally (Bob) Fauser and stepgrandson, Rod Jupp; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Bennett of Venice, Florida and Eleanor Clark of Jackson; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Hannah (McConnel) Ruggles; brother, George Ruggles; two sisters, Margurite Bibbons and Martha Bloomer; two great-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law, M. Wanda and Brenda E. Schipper. She was a retiree of Consumers Power Company with 22 years service, graduated from Jackson High School, was a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus and enjoyed bowling, knitting, ceramics and other handicrafts. Services will be held at the funeral home tomorrow 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Gerald Schipper officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to service time. Memorial contributions are directed to the Ganson Street Baptist Church.
