On Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock, June 22, were united in marriage at Elkmont, Mr. Thaddeus M. Coxe and Miss Mecca Wallace. It was an event of distinction and general interest, and the pretty little M. E. Church was crowded with people who witnessed it. Beautiful were the decorations of potted plants and evergreens, and the ceremony performed by Prof. Jas. E. Scoby of Franklin, Tenn. Miss Emma Cotton of Decatur played the wedding march and by its music the bridal party marched to the altar. Misses Rossie Redus, Pearl Vaughn, Zoda Woodfin and Louise Strang acted as pages and opened the evergreen gates and allowed the party to enter the church. Mr. Laburn Westmoreland and Dr. F. P. Petty were the ushers. W. E. Cox of Greensboro and Miss Lizzie Hyde of Elkmont were respectively best man and maid of honor. Mr. W. R. Orr of Birmingham and Miss Mattie Poteet of Danville, Mr. A. P. Howell of Danville and Miss Kate Graves of Donaldson, Tenn, Dr. H. D. Westmoreland of Athens and Miss Mae Pettus of Elkmont, Dr. Theo Copeland of Birmingham and Miss Kate Phillips of Elkmont were the attendants. After the ceremony, the bridal party and many friends repaired to the home of the bride's parents, Dr. and Mrs. N.B. Wallace, where they were tendered a reception. Several hours sped away happily before the party broke up with well wishing to the bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Coxe will live at their home in Danville, AL.
